Pepsi Cola "Double Dot"
|
Here we have a restored Pepsi Cola "Double Dot" embossed slider box from 1949. The "Double Dot" nickname comes from the pair of dots between Pepsi and Cola in the machine's logo. Double Dot sliders were manufactured between 1948 and 1953 and were replaced by single dot sliders afterwards. Ideal 55 machines vend bottles ranging from six ounces to twelve ounces each. Named for its capacity, the machine will hold 55 bottles and will vend them for a dime each, or the machine can be set to vend for free. It also has chilled storage in the chest's lower half which can only be accessed from the side door. This slider has been fully refurbished with a high quality base-coat, clear-coat paint job. The machine's embossed logo has been professionally hand painted, as well as the "drink" and "ice cold" details on the front. The machine's door has also been decorated with a new bottle decal. The machine's refrigeration is working with a new fan motor and new wiring combined with the original compressor. It has been mounted on new 3" castors which make moving the machine very easy. Also, the machine has new gaskets and a new mirror finish, stainless steel lid. |
